Why only white guys?

I have no problem with it, but I am curious to know why when I lived in a large city (Minneapolis), more black guys would "holla" at me. Yet, now that I am in a small town (of New England) for college, it is ALWAYS white guys that smile and stare at me while the black guys don't seem to know I exist. What is up? I am black.
