Cream of Brocoli Soup help?

now i've done searches an so on, and i've even tried to make it but for some reason it just don't turn out quite right. its ok and its edible but i feel it can be better. anyone make any good yummy cream of broccoli or cheddar broccoli soup? that turned out really good that can share tip with me... mine just seems to lack something. thank you.
