Why is this? It's really confusing...?

Okay so I'm an 18 year old white girl & ever since I've moved to what most would call the "hood", I've been noticing that a lot of older black men have been checking me out & paying attention to me, but guys my age & younger (that I go to school w/) don't pay any attention to me & aren't attracted to me. Why? My family is always pestering me about finding a boyfriend down here..they aren't racist, but they honestly don't want me dating black guys. However, all of the white guys, hispanic guys, asian guys..only like the black chicks because there's more of them than any other race down here. I'm not racist at all...I see the person, not the race...but apparently it isn't the same w/ everybody.
