Interesting Commodities/Imports?

I have to do a research project for my geography which focuses on commodity chains. The idea is to study a specific commodity from it's origin in a peripheral or semi-peripheral region (i.e. Mexico, Thailand) thru its manufacturing, shipping, etc, to it's place on the shelf here in the US. So I ask for any suggestions that you think would make for an interesting project.
